The 48th edition of the World Series Of Poker, which adds up as the most prestigious, longest running and most attended poker event on the globe will open its gates on Tuesday, 30th May 2017 in the city of its birth, Las Vegas. This year’s tournament series will be held at the acclaimed Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino all the way to 17 July 2017. The 49-day event will feature a series of games including; satellites, gold bracelet events, daily deep stack tournaments and cash games. Its climax will feature a nine-player finale on the 17th.
Over the first weekend running between Friday, 2 June to Sunday, 4 June, players should expect an array of tournaments including the largest live poker event, the Colossus 3.It would feature the two flight, $565 buy-in re-entry where players can enter the tournament again in case they fail to advance. All this will be in a bid to turn $565 into one million bucks in a couple of days. This particular event is expected to surpass its two-year record of over 45000 participants.
The following weekend, which will run from 9th-11th June, will feature the celebrated $1500 millionaire maker championship where the winner is guaranteed a whopping $1000000 bucks. The following weekend between 15th and 17 July will culminate in the senior’s event where only players above the age of 50 are allowed to participate. The Super Senior event will then will the kick off on Sunday 18 June where only 65+players are allowed to participate.
Other exciting tournaments that will be on offer include the infamous $1500 Monster-stack tournament which commences on 24th and the $888 buy-in crazy eight tournaments which will start the following weekend on the 2nd of July. The 48th series will also see the re-introduction of the $1111 buy-in Little One for One Drop tournament, which offers players the final chance at the gold bracelet after being busted out of the main event. It will also be the final bracelet event of 2017.
The pinnacle and main event of the 48th series of the WSOP will be renowned $10000, buy-in no limit, HoldEm championship that will kick-off on the last weekend of event. Starting July 8- July 17, nine players will have a chance to play and a few months later in November, come back to determine the 2017 world champion.
This year’s world series has also guaranteed players that they can acquire tournament buy-ins via Credit card for amounts not exceeding $10000. This way, most event buy-ins including the main event can be purchased using plastic. Better yet, Palansky has retained the online playing platform to attract more players.
Over 500 poker tables will be available across the 100000 square feet space in the casino ballroom to accommodate the thousands of visitors and players expected to take part in the series. The 47th edition in 2016 attracted over 100000 participants, the largest attendance in WSOP history, from over 100 countries around the globe. This year’s event is expected to attract more attendants and the full tournament schedule is set to be out in February.
